Biography

If one is to believe his label Kindercore Records, home-recording enigma the Frosted Ambassador "started out in 1977 in the group Chronicle Ape and the New Sound. A disappointing solo career in the early 80's prompted his retirement from music and relocation to Belgium to study toast." Furthermore, the original master of his self-titled debut album was supposedly "found buried under a goose (Freedom Goose) by an American serviceman living overseas, who accidentally sent the tape home to his family in Georgia in place of an intended audio letter (coincidentally concerning the quality of crispy bread in Europe). This tape eventually resurfaced in 1995 in a shoe suspended over a colonial wig in a Georgia thrift store." Although no one connected to the project would come clean, a series of clues indicated the Frosted Ambassador to in truth be the solo alias of Olivia Tremor Control drummer Eric Harris -- not only was the second track on the Olivias' debut Dusk at Cubist Castle titled "Frosted Ambassador," but samples from the group's Black Foliage record resurface on the Ambassador's disc, which even features artwork courtesy of OTC co-founder William Cullen Hart. The album appeared on Kindercore in 1999.
