Biography

Louisville, KY's the Glasspack was formed in 1999 by singer/guitarist Dirty Dave Johnson, who quickly set about recording their debut album American Exhaust for the Man's Ruin label. Unfortunately, said label went bankrupt in the year 2000, forcing the band to release the album via their own Riverock Records, then do the same with an EP called Road Warriors before finally finding a new home at Detroit-based indie label Small Stone. Once settled there, Johnson and his cohorts -- guitarist Lil' Bucky, organist Reverend, bassist Bobby Nova, and drummer the Cap'n -- set to work on their second full-length album, which they named Powderkeg and unleashed in 2002.
