Biography

Combining stirring melodies with rock & roll's flammable powers, the Pattern formed in Oakland, CA, in the beginning of 2000, reuniting the efforts of a five-piece crew, all of which had previous band experiences. Led by vocalist and songwriter Christopher Appelgren, along with guitarists Jason Rosenberg and Andy Asp, bassist Carson Bell, and drummer Jim Anderson, the Pattern joins garage rock, indie tones, and also punk rock's rousing references, eventually revealing inspired and unique alternative tunes. During the months subsequent to its formation, the band swiftly assembled a fan base not only in the U.S., but also in Europe. Following the release of several 7" records, the squad finally settled down to record its debut album in 2001. In September 2001, Immediately, the crew's first full-length disc, hit the record stores through the Lookout Records label, eventually enjoying good reviews by the local media. In late 2001, the Oakland-based band started preparing to embark on their first major nationwide tour, alongside bands such as the Vue, the Donnas, and Girls Against Boys.
