Biography

The musical traditions of Russia are preserved through the singing of Les Choeurs de l'Armee Rouge (translated: Chorus of the Red Army). Although their repertoire no longer includes the militant and patriotic songs of the Soviet Union, the 70 members of the group, directed by Alexandre Poustovalov, continue to provide a musical voice for the political and social experiences of the Russian people. Les Choeurs de l'Armee Rouge collaborated with French vocalist Jeane Manson, in 1998, on an album, Jeane Manson Sings With Choeurs de l'Armee Rouge.
