Biography

Southern fried hard rockers Throttlerod emerged from South Carolina in 1999 and featured Matt Whitehead (vocals/guitar), Bo Leslie (guitar), Chris Sundstrom (bass), and Jon McNabb (drums). A four-song demo called "By the Horns" was recorded that same year and their full-length debut Eastbound and Down arrived in 2000 on Underdogma Records. Intense touring followed, as did a strategic move to Virginia and the eventual introduction of new drummer Kevin White, after which Throttlerod signed with Small Stone and released their second album, 2003's Hell and High Water.
