Biography

Hailing from Richmond, VA, Tulsa Drone's experimental slow-tempo sounds were initially created by Peter Neff (dulcimer) and Erik Grotz (guitars, vocals) in early 2001. Over the next few years they were joined by Jim Thomson (drums), Scott Hudgins (guitar, bass), and Jim Chandler (guitar, bass). Acquiring attention in the local area, Tulsa Drone found themselves on bills with Smog, Tone, Centimeters, and Big Lazy. Their first record, No Wake, was followed by Songs from a Mean Season, produced by Scott Minor of Sparklehorse. Thomson has since been replaced by new drummer Kevin Cornell.
