Biography

Iceland's Worm Is Green gathers sparse electronic beats and glossy trip-hop threads for a stylish experimental sound. Hailing from the city of Arkranes, female vocalist Gudrídur Ringsted is surrounded by boys: Árni Teitur Ásgeirsson (programming/synthesizer), Bjarni Por Hannesson (samples), Porsteinn Hannesson (drums), and Vilberg Hafsteinn Jónsson (bass). The chilling dynamic that is Worm Is Green came together in 2002. European fans immediately took to the band's hypnotic dream pop swirls when their debut album, Automagic, was released on Thule in 2003. Automagic saw a domestic release on Arena Rock in May 2004.
