Alison Statton (born 1959) is a Welsh singer. She presently works as a chiropractor in Cardiff, Wales, where she was born. Fans of the singer have included Kurt Cobain, Courtney Love, Belle and Sebastian and Renato Russo.

Musical career

Statton is best known as the singer for the band Young Marble Giants. Her vocals are gentle, plaintive, and poetic. After Young Marble Giants, she formed the band Weekend with Simon Emmerson (Booth) and Spike Williams, releasing the LP La Variete in 1982 and a live EP, Live at Ronnie Scott's the following year.

She released two recordings with the guitarist from Ludus, Ian Devine, The Prince of Wales and Cardiffians. After working with Devine, she released several records with Spike.

Young Marble Giants reunited for a number of live performances during 2007-8 in Barcelona, Paris, Vigo, Porto, Berlin, The Hay Festival and Belgium.
