The Budapest Symphony Orchestra is a Hungarian orchestra. It is part of the Hungarian Television and Broadcasting Organisation, Magyar Rádió.

The Budapest Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1943 by conductor Ernst von Dohnányi. The orchestra has performed internationally with renowned conductors, soloists and composers, such as János Ferencsik, Otto Klemperer, Carlo Zecchi, Claudio Abbado, Georg Solti, Béla Drahos, Johanna Beisteiner, Robert Gulya, Ilayaraja The recordings of the orchestra are published, inter alia, by Naxos, Gramy and Hungaroton.
