Best-known as the lead vocalist of Hooverphonic, Geike Arnaert recorded eight studio albums with one of Belgium's most popular pop acts before leaving for a solo career in 2008. Born in Heuvelland in 1978, she first tested the waters by duetting with legendary crooner Bobbejaan Schoepen on the historical French song "Le Temps des Cerises," guesting on records by the likes of Ozark Henry, Flip Kowlier, and Tom Helsen and teaming up with Dutch singer/songwriter Spinvis under the guise of Dorleac for the soundtrack to Belgian film Oxygen. In 2011, she released her debut studio effort, For the Beauty of the Confusion.
