All Music Guide:
Hissanol was the side project of former Nomeansno guitarist Andy Kerr and Shovelhed frontman Scott Henderson. Recording via mail -- Kerr lived in the Netherlands, with Henderson in British Columbia -- the duo sent tapes back and forth, slowly crafting songs on a track-by-track basis; their debut LP 4th and Back was followed in 1998 by The Making of Him.
Wikipedia:
Hissanol were a two-piece experimental indie rock band based in both Amsterdam and Victoria active between 1994 and 1998. The band was a studio-only project from former NoMeansNo guitarist Andy Kerr and Scott Henderson of Shovlhed, Swell Prod., the Showbusiness Giants, and other groups.
Since its two members lived on separate continents, the band collaborated via air mail, building upon each others songs' on multi-track recording equipment. Each member provided a number of instruments and vocals. The group produced two full-length albums released on Alternative Tentacles Records.
Both musicians remain active; Kerr is currently playing in Two Pin Din.
