Husalah (born 1981, James Ratliff) is an American rapper from Pittsburg, California. He began his career with the Pittsburg group the Mob Figaz, whose first album, C-Bo's Mob Figaz, was released in 1999. Like his close-friend, The Jacka, he is a devout Muslim, which contributes much in his lyrics.

Career [edit]

He began his career with the Pittsburgh, California-based group Mob Figaz. Their first album, C-Bo's Mob Figaz, was released in 1999 and was a minor hit on the Billboard Hip Hop charts, entering in at #63. The album sold fairly well making 160,000 units sold. His first solo album, entitled Dope, Guns, and Religion, was released in 2006 was one of the most anticipated Bay Area Hip-Hop albums at the time.

Prison term [edit]

In 2006 Husalah was serving time on a five-year sentence for selling cocaine. Whilst Husalah was in prison rumors arose that he had died being stabbed in prison. This proved however to be an Internet hoax, when Husalah's prison discharge papers were posted on the Internet, and when World Star Hip Hop released a video of Husalah the day he was released, talking about the rumors.
