All Music Guide:

When members of Memphis-based the Oblivians went their separate ways in the late '90s, Jack Yarber (aka Jack Oblivian, who also played in the roots punk act the Compulsive Gamblers, among others) released some solo records before hooking up with Scott Bomar to start a new band, the Tearjerkers. As Bomar eventually got more involved with film scoring, the band became based around the songs of Yarber, and the group's first full-length, the gritty blues-influenced rock & roll album Don't Throw Your Love Away, was released in the fall of 2004 through Sympathy for the Record Industry. Flip Side Kid followed two years later.
