Kaputt is an alternative, indie four piece band from London, England. Kaputt is the new band from multi-instrumentalist Silke Steidinger. Having departed The Go! Team in late 2005 with a fist full of songs, Silke gradually built Kaputt into the outfit it is today. The band is heavily influenced by Al Stewart.
Kaputt are Silke Steidinger(vocals, guitar), Matt Yeates (guitar), Stu Duffy(bass) and Ben Parmentier.
Kaputt have supported bands such as Laurel Collective, They Came From the Stars I Saw Them and Matt and Kim. Also they have headlined their own dates in both Europe and the United Kingdom at renowned venues such as the Barfly, the Luminaire and they also twice headlined at Camden's Koko (Club NME) with Kennen Bell and 12 Dirty Bullets in support. Kaputt were also invited to play at the XFM All Day Breakfast, the Official After Show Party for the NME Awards Ceremony, as well as Xposure and BBC6 live sessions.
Radio Live Sessions and Radio Play
Kaputt are regularly played on XFM London and BBC 6 and have recorded live sessions with both radio stations, which led to them being asked to play for John Kennedy and John Hillcock (both Xfm) as part of Xfm's "All Day Breakfast" celebrations.
KEXP Seattle made Kaputt's song "Water Makes The Blades Blunt" their Song of The Day for March 18, 2008.
