After departing from the lo-fi psychedelic antics of the Scientists, Kim Salmon moved on to a solo career in 1998 with his backing band the Business. Not to be confused with the seminal British Oi! band, Salmon and company sport their three-piece suits with a soulful harmony of power pop. Salmon debuted in 1999 with the single "Saving Me from Me" on Half-a-Cow Records. His full-length entitled Record followed that same year.
