All Music Guide:

Márcio Montarroyos is one of the most important Brazilian trumpeters. Extremely active since the '70s as a session man for a who's who of Brazilian popular singers, he coined a recognizable sound in the dawn of studio sound manipulation with cascading echoes. Among the many top artists he has played with include Stevie Wonder, Sérgio Mendes, Sarah Vaughan, Hermeto Pascoal, Nancy Wilson, Egberto Gismonti, Carlos Santana, Milton Nascimento, Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Jobim, and Ney Matogrosso. He also writes soundtracks for cinema and TV, both in Brazil and abroad. Montarroyos was the arranger for the Brazilian music of the Moon Over Parador film. His international performances include Japan, Germany, Portugal and Switzerland.
