Biography

Although born in Windsor, Ontario, Christine Fellows has been a globetrotter for many years. Raised in France and also Kelowna, British Columbia, the signer had a variety of odd jobs, including planting trees during summers before finding her niche, in 1993, in Winnipeg. While there, Fellows discovered the blossoming independent music scene and became an integral part of it. In 1993, she formed her first group, Helen, which was reported to be the "next big thing" out of Winnipeg. But the band broke up. In 1996, Fellows teamed up with singer/songwriter Keri McTighe to form Special Fancy. The group released one album, King Me, before breaking up. Tired of failed attempts in the music business, Fellows finally broke through, releasing her debut album, 2 little birds, in 2000. In March 2002, Fellows released The Last One Standing on Six Shooter Records. The singer has won several awards, as well as the praise of fans and critics. She has also performed with Veda Hille, the Weakerthans, and the Rheostatics.
