Biography

This '90s R&B vocal group should not be confused with the late-'70s Philadelphia band, which was a funk-oriented unit, or the vocal trio Silk from Los Angeles. Timothy Cameron, Jimmy Gates, Jr., Jonathen Rasboro, Gary Jenkins, and Gary Glenn issued their debut LP, Lose Control, in 1992 and have excited urban contemporary audiences, particularly women, with their engaging harmonies and aggressively suggestive material. Their single "Freak Me" was a huge hit in 1993; two years later, the group issued a self-titled LP for Elektra, followed in 1999 by Tonight. Love Session appeared in spring 2001.
