Praxis is one of producer Bill Laswell's many projects, featuring guitarist Buckethead, Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, AF Next Man Flip (turntable) and Brain (drums) Transmutation (Mutatis Mutandis) appeared on Axiom Records in 1993, followed a year later by Sacrifist. Warsawa, featuring contributions from members of the turntable crew Invisibl Skratch Piklz, was released in 1999.

Praxis is practice in the sense of simply doing something, either in the present or regularly. Praxis does not include rehearsal or training, for which the "real" action in question will happen in the future.
