Punk Bunny is a Los Angeles based electroclash performer Gil Sandoval (better known as Luigi). His music is notable for its extreme sexual content, gay cultural references and incorporating unusual elements in his live performances such as drag-queens and outrageous costumes. In the early-mid 2000’s he garnered a substantial cult following in the burgeoning Los Angeles electroclash scene. He has shared the stage with other notable acts such as Peaches, John Waters, Avenue D, Mystery Jets, Freezepop, Blowfly, 2 Live Crew, White Rose Movement, Pam Hogg, Debbie Harry, Fishbone, The Hacker, Leslie Hall and Otto von Schirach. His music has been featured in pornographic independent films such as Atomic Vixens 2005 as well as RingMyBell.TV

Early life

Gil Sandoval (born May 18, 1973) was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. In 1987, while just 14 years old, he started his first band called Spastic Children. After Spastik Children disbanded in 1989, he participated in 5 other bands (Rubberband, Marble, Esoteric, Oneiric, The Haunted Tortillas) from 1994 to 2002.

Punk Bunny

In 2003, he decided to create an electronic outfit called Punk Bunny. He played his first live show on Feb 6, 2004 at The Gauntlet, a gay leather bar in the Silver Lake district of Los Angeles. In 2006, he made an appearance on The Jack E. Jett Show. After being contacted by Vans to play select California dates on the 2005 and 2006 Warped Tour Luigi released the album entitled “A Hole Is A Hole!!!” while still using the Punk Bunny moniker and embarked on the Calling All Whores tour, his first national tour. In 2007, he toured Europe and performed on Spanish television show Radio 3 TVE. He has done various interviews and performances on notable radio stations such as KXLU Los Angeles. In 2008, Luigi created his own independent record label called Bunny Hole Records and in 2008 released his album entitled “My Secret Garden”. His Money Shot Remixes album was also featured on MTV.com. During promotion and touring for this album, Luigi recruited a new lineup of back-up dancers and released his studio album “Mucho Muchacho” in 2009 on the Bunny Hole Records imprint. After doing a national tour in promotion of Mucho Muchacho, Luigi released a retrospective album of Punk Bunny’s demo’s and unreleased tracks called “Live, Raw, and Uncut” in 2010. In 2011, he completed his "Live and Uncut Tour" in Europe and graced the stage of Stockholm Pride 2011. On February 14, 2012 he released his 4th studio album "Hung, Proud & Sloppy".
