All Music Guide:

Puracane originally began as a collaboration between the duo Ali Rogers (vocals) and David Biegel (programmer/producer) in 1999. They released their debut album, Things You Should Leave Alone, on acid jazz imprint Ubiquity in 2000. Later that year, Rogers decided to put Puracane through the transition of being simply a studio project to a live band and the group toured with several A-list entertainers (Sting, Jane's Addiction, Depeche Mode) for the next several years. In 2006, the group self-released In Limbo: a collection of songs produced by various combinations of bandmembers during the group's hiatus. By this time, Puracane comprised Rogers, Juan Masotta (guitar, electronics), Drew Thurlow (bass), and Andrew Griffiths (drums). An official sophomore release is currently in the works
