Riad Alexander Michael is a German physician, musician and music therapist.
He records his music that is characterized by its diversity, originality and often experimentation under the alias Geyser as well as his own name. While Geyser has been depicted as downtempo, trip hop, lounge, big beat, drum 'n' bass, dub, funk, fusion, lo-fi-futurism and abstract pop, the productions as Riad Michael have been classified as techno, tech house, progressive house, trance, IDM and ambient.
Being musically active since the mid-1980s Riad Michael has been a member of the EBM duo Rasierte Heidschnucken as well as various further bands. His noticed and multiple positively reviewed debut solo album Digger as Geyser has been published at first as promotion version without record label and subsequently under the Colonian Mehrwert Records including the maxi-single Tomi. After working together also with Mindsound Records from Münster Riad Michael has founded his own label Geyser Recordings under which as Geyser his further studio albums Concrete, Atmosphere, Clean Sweep and Fifth as well as his EP Decision, as Riad Michael his studio album Ambient I as well as his singles and EPs Abaro, Snip, Lights and Desire have been released.
On grounds of his medical dissertation on the evaluation of therapeutic music drawing in psychogenic and psychosomatic disorders he has been awarded a doctorate magna cum laude at the University of Münster.
