Another of super bassist Bootsy Collins' seemingly endless side projects, Science Faxtion is essentially the Praxis lineup (Collins on bass, Buckethead on guitar, and Brian "Brain" Mantia on drums) with versatile singer and guitarist Greg Hampton and programmer DJ Botieus along for the ride. Falling to the rock side of the funk line, Science Faxtion aimed for a futuristic funk sound (which is, when you think about it, what Collins has really always been doing throughout his busy career) on their debut album, Living on Another Frequency, which was released in the fall of 2008 on Mascot Records and featured guest contributions from Bernie Worrell, rapper Chuck D, and others.

Science Faxtion is an American experimental metal band that formed in California in 2007. Comprising multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Bootsy Collins, vocalist and guitarist Greg Hampton, guitarist Buckethead, drummer Bryan "Brain" Mantia and DJ Tobe "Tobotius" Donohue (also known as DJ Botieus), the band has released the album Living on Another Frequency in October 2008.
