All Music Guide:

If the tribute to the city's skyline on the cover of their debut doesn't tip you off, So They Say hail from St. Louis, MO. David Schroeder, Joseph Hamilton, Joe Hoermann, Nick Walters, and Justin Hanson had all been in bands before So They Say, but when the lineup finally gelled it felt pretty right. It also didn't hurt that the tracks they'd posted on sites like www.myspace.com and www.purevolume.com were receiving fawning approval from all over the U.S. Fearless Records took notice of the online buzz and signed So They Say in 2004. The band then headed out on the Warped Tour and released its self-titled EP in September 2005. Its raucous sound blended post-hardcore tension with urgent vocals for a sound similar to bands like Hidden in Plain View. The full-length Antidote for Irony followed in March 2006 alongside a South by Southwest slot and tour dates with Allister and June. Life in Surveillance followed in 2007.

Wikipedia:

So They Say is an alternative rock band based in St. Louis, Missouri. They released their self-titled debut EP in 2005. Shortly after, in 2006, they released their debut studio album, Antidote for Irony on Fearless Records. They recorded the follow-up album, Life In Surveillance with Matt Hyde (Strung Out, Slayer, Liars Inc., Porno for Pyros), released on October 9, 2007. So They Say appeared on Warped Tour 2007, 2006 and one week on Warped Tour 2005. In April 2008 the band decided to take some time off to pursue other musical tastes. Justin Hanson is currently playing music in a band called Lesser Key, Nicholas Walters is currently working in the music industry. David and Joseph went on to play in a band called Me Verse You. In late 2010 David and Joseph put out a statement saying "After taking some time off to clear our heads, and pursue various musical projects, Dave and I have realized when we were listening to our newest batch of demos that it was So They Say". The band then added Cory Laneman on drums, and Alex Wilkinson on lead guitar. For more information go to http://myspace.com/sotheysay
