Terry Alan Mathews (October 5, 1964 – February 24, 2012), was a professional baseball player who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1991-1999. He played for the Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Baltimore Orioles, and Kansas City Royals. Mathews was nicknamed "The Human Pear" for his unique body shape.

Mathews pitched in college at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (formerly Northeast Louisiana University).

Matthews was married with three children, two of whom play baseball/softball. He was a school resource officer at his alma mater of Holy Savior Menard High School in Alexandria, La., and had also been a volunteer baseball coach there.
