The Knocks are an electronic music duo consisting of Ben "B-Roc" Ruttner and James "JPatt" Patterson. Their single, "Make It Better," was released on Neon Gold Records in July 2010. Currently, they are opening for Ellie Goulding on her American/Canadian tour.
History
NME Magazine named The Knocks one of the "20 hottest producers in music right now" and they are featured frequently in NY Post's "Popwrap." The name, "The Knocks," refers to the early days in their career when neighbors would knock on their door for playing music too loudly. The Knocks have shared the stage with artists such as Big Boi, RJD2, Holy Ghost!, B.o.B, Die Antwoord, and Calvin Harris. In the fall of 2010 they embarked on their first European tour, sharing dates with Scissor Sisters, M.I.A. and Sleigh Bells.
Philadelphia hip-hop band, Chiddy Bang, sampled The Knocks' "Blackout" for their single "Here We Go (Feat Q-Tip)" off their release, Chiddy Bang: The Preview.
On February 1, 2012 they uploaded their cover over "Midnight City" by M83 to SoundCloud featuring vocals by Mandy Lee. In one week the song had 10,000 downloads.
Currently in the studio working on songs for the their forthcoming EP and full album for A&M/Octone Records.
