        One of the many new faces to arrive on the zydeco scene during the 1990s, accordionist Thomas "Big Hat" Fields was born in Rayne, Lousiana in 1947. Already well known to his fellow performers for running a zydeco club in the Grand Coteau area, he did not even pick up the accordion until the the late 1980s, soon after forming the Foot Stompin' Zydeco Band with his bassist wife Geneva. Fields debuted in 1994 with The Big Hat Man; Come to Louisiana followed in 1995.
