Biography

Tripwires are a band from Reading, UK, the band formed in 2007 and have regularly been performing around the country since. Their sound is distinguishable by big, reverb-laden, distorted guitar and big melody; reminiscent of Shoegaze, Grunge and early 90's guitar pop.

Soon after forming the band received radio airplay from Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq (BBC Radio 1), and from Tom Robinson (BBC Radio 6 Music). This culminated in being asked to appear at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August 2008. After a period of apparent dormancy, the band announced in August 2010 that they had begun working on their debut album. On 12 November 2010 Clash (magazine) offered an exclusive free download of the track 'Cinnamon'. This soon picked up support from various blogs and magazines including The Fly.
