All Music Guide:
Longtime collaborators Krister Svensson and Magnus Karnock formed Wan Light in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2002. Putting together a mournful, austere set of acoustic guitar-driven, synth-kissed songs that nodded to acts like Loney, Dear and Songs of Green Pheasant, the duo had its first single, "Get It Straighter," ready to go by the following year. The single generated quite a bit of airplay in the duo's homeland, and paved the way for the release of Wan Light's debut full-length, Let's Wake Up Somewhere Else, in 2004. An EP, That Grim Reality, came out soon after, and the band's second full-length album, Carmaline, hit stores in Sweden in 2005.
