eMusic editor-in-chief Michael Azerrad is the author of Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana (Doubleday, 1993), which remains the definitive Nirvana biography, and the critically acclaimed, best selling Our Band Could Be Your Life: Scenes from the American Indie Underground 1981-1991 (Little, Brown, 2001). A former contributing editor to Rolling Stone, where he wrote hundreds of articles, Azerrad has also written major features for the New Yorker, Spin, and the New York Times, among other publications. He was a writer for MTV News from 1987-1992 and the music editor of SonicNet.com from 1996- 1999. Azerrad is also the drummer in the King of France, whose most recent album actor Edward Norton recently called "truly stupendous."
