Billy Altman is a Grammy-nominated critic and historian whose work has appeared in such places as the New York Times, the New Yorker, Rolling Stone, Esquire, Spin, Yahoo and Sound & Vision. A longtime senior editor of Creem Magazine and a former curator for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he is a recipient of the ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award for Excellence in Music Journalism. He teaches in the Humanities Department of the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
