Novelist/philosopher/psychonaut/crazy old dude does exactly what the title says
As a novelist (he wrote The Illuminatus! Trilogy), philosopher (dude could talk) and psychonaut (dude hung with Timothy Leary and experimented with drugs — scientifically), Robert Anton Wilson was all about mixing the truth with clever lies. The point of "Operation Mindfuck," as he called it, was to wake humanity up from its intellectual smugness. Wilson had seen his colleagues driven underground and his best works misunderstood, but you learn early on in Explains Everything that Old Bob was an optimist. There are no problems the world can't solve, he figured, and pessimists never get anything done. This isn't a typical self-help book — it won't even remind you of a book — but there are some mind-opening bits of knowledge every two seconds from this crazy old genius. Is he right that James Joyce is best enjoyed stoned? Can acid really cure impotence or autism? Dunno. This is an elective course.

A Treasure Trove of Humor and Insights.
Robert Anton Wilson is a meal. He is a multi-course feast of comedy, science, philosophy, and bullshit. And good luck figuring out which is which. Those familiar with Bob will gather much from this audio book. The interviewer is well versed and Bob, despite poor health, displays his encyclopedic knowledge and wit over topics ranging from his own life influences to politics to conspiracy and back again. I've read seventeen of his books and the first disc alone taught me how little I know of the man. I heartily recommend this title to those familiar with RAW and doubly recommend it to anyone seeking useful insights into the human experience/mind.
