Welcome to the paperless (or "AUDIOBOOK") edition of MORE INFORMATION THAN YOU REQUIRE, a further compendium of COMPLETE WORLD KNOWLEDGE assembled and illumined by John Hodgman, a Famous Minor Television Personality. It contains all of the half-truths, fake trivia, amazing made-up facts, and molemanic lore as the paper edition, narrated here almost entirely by Resident Expert John Hodgman, occasionally interrupted by this veritable extravaganza of illustrious and sometimes presumptuous guests: Dick Cavett, Jonathan Coulton, Zach Galifianakis, Ricky Gervais, Ira Glass, Robin Goldwasser, Rachel Maddow, Paul Rudd, Paul F. Tompkins, and Sarah Vowell.
PLUS: This recording includes ALL 700 MOLE-MAN NAMES as they were written and subsequently performed LIVE BEFORE A STUDIO AUDIENCE in an underground lair in Brooklyn, NY.

What Others Say:
"In every way a continuation of Areas of My Expertise, except in the ways it's clearly superior…More Information Than You Require is exactly the tonic for these truth-challenged times: a transformation of pedestrian reality through the enlightened power of imagination and insatiable list-making."
The Onion A/V Club

"I love this book so much I nearly read it.

John Hodgman, More Information Than You Require
2009 | Label: Penguin Audio

The world's most famous resident expert bestows more world knowledge
Those who aren't familiar with John Hodgman the writer are probably familiar with John Hodgman the computer (as in, the guy who plays the stodgy PC in those Mac commercials). Hodgman's true talents lie in deadpan humor, however: specifically the type that dances along the lines of historical oddities and pure nonsense as demonstrated in his role as "Resident Expert" on "The Daily Show". In this follow-up to The Areas of my Expertise, an "almanac" full of fun "facts", bizarre trivia and general straight-faced silliness, Hodgman educates the masses on topics such as the days when the office of Vice President stood for the office of the evil version of the President. More Info is ideal for those with short attention spans, as the humor is dispelled in easy-to swallow pellets rather than long-form prose. Format-related jokes abound for the audiobook listener, including Hodgman's descriptions of audio "pictures," an audio page-a-day calendar and guest appearances by funny readers such as Paul Rudd, Ricky Gervais, Zach Galifianakis and Rachel Maddow.

truly awful

This book is mind numbing nonsense! I have no idea what this book is about. It seems like Hodgman decided to write down his random thoughts. I fell asleep several times trying to listen to this book. Life is too short...do NOT buy!

Quite Possibly the Worst Audiobook of All Time

buk nekkid

Let's face it, eMusic, you owe me ten bucks. This POS is boring, inane, irrelevant, but most importantly, NOT FUNNY AT ALL. You might enjoy this drivel, provided your metabolism is very... very... slowww.....

Mole Man Names

PaulMorel

There are 13 mp3s in this download. Parts 8 through 11 are a fictional chronology that is truly boring. Parts 12 and 13 are a live recitation of 700 mole man names. Yes. So, I loved the first 7 parts of this audiobook (about 7 hours), but after that, I had a hard time sticking with it.

Humor Lies, Banter, and Music

Strange-World

Banter and funny songs add to this collection of lies and half truths that might otherwise be a monotonous 12 hours. The author may start out in a section with one or more factual statements and expand them into "facts" that he made up. His friend and "farrel mountain man" companion, Jon Colter, seems to have a funny musical take on every one of the subjects he speaks about.

1st Chapter was good

patriothenry

The first chapter was very funny, but then after that it was a total waste of time. John Hodgman seems to forget that in order for us to enjoy his book, we should think it's funny too.
