        This may be the greatest novel ever written. It's extraordinary political system, believable hard science fiction and a story that is impossible to put down makes this the book for the ages. Why can't writers of today write like this? But forget the movie, they got so much wrong it's not worth watching.

        Heinlein at his best

        Heinlein's novel is vastly superior to the movie. His experience in the military shows clearly in the manner he captures the esprit de corps of men and women willing to put their lives on the line. Many of the technological advances he describes are already here (heads-up friend-or-foe battle displays), or are in development for use in combat (mechanically augmented combat armor). A fun read, well worth the investment.
