Below you'll find a handy list of the 100 (or so) best-selling albums on eMusic from Jan. 1, 2007 to Dec. 31, 2007. What can we learn from this? Well, we sure do like a lot of indie rock, and if your name is Spoon — whose Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga was the best-selling record of the year — the Arcade Fire, National or Stars, you're pretty much guaranteed to have a hit record on eMusic without breaking a sweat. And don't forget to note the surprises, the biggest of which being Burial and Yeasayer, two artists far from most folks' minds back at the year's beginning, but whose excellent records propelled them to (relative) stardom.
Taken as a companion piece to our regular best albums of the year list, this gives a pretty clear picture of what we're all about: good music, and lots and lots of it. Have fun digging in!
