Getting Started with eMusic Downloads

The eMusic Download Manager allows you to download full albums with a single click and it automatically syncs your downloads to iTunes, Windows Media Player, and Winamp.

 

 

Using Windows-

 

1. When you click Download (for an album or track) for the first time you’ll see the following message.

 

 

2. Click the Download for Windows button.

 

3. When you click the download eMusic Download Manager button, a file similar to the one shown below will be saved to your downloads folder (or wherever you’ve selected to save files downloaded in your browser).

 

 

4. Double-click this file. The installer will open. Follow the steps to complete installation.

 

 

5. Follow the instructions to install the eMusic Download Manager.

 

6. Upon successful installation return to your browser. You should see the following message:

 

 

7. Click the link to return to the emusic homepage.

 

Google Chrome Users-

As you can see in the image above, you will be prompted to install the eMusic Download Manager extension on your Google Chrome browser.

 

Installing the Chrome extension during Download Manager installation:

 

1. If you have the Chrome browser installed on your computer you will see the following message in the bottom of the Chrome window after installing the eMusic Download Manager.

 

 

2. Click Continue. The following message will be displayed.

 

 

3. Click Install. This will install the eMusic Download Manager extension. Once installed you can download your music.

 

Installing the Chrome extension after DLM installation:

 

If you need to install the eMusic Download Manager extension for Chrome use the following steps.

 

1. Download the eMusic Download Manager extension here.

 

2. The following message will be displayed in the bottom of the Chrome window.

 

 

3. Click Continue. The following message will be displayed.

 

 

4. Click Install. This will install the eMusic Download Manager extension. Once installed you can download your music.

 

Checking to see if you have the eMusic Download Manager extension installed:

 

To check if you have the eMusic Download Manager extension installed do the following:

 

1. In the Chrome browser click the wrench icon in the top, right of the browser window.

2. Select Options.

3. Select Extensions.

4. Look for the following:

Using Macintosh

Follow the instructions to install the eMusic Download Manager.

Google Chrome Users-

Setting Your Preferences-

When you run the eMusic Download Manager for the first time you will be prompted to set up your eMusic download location and media player syncing preferences.

 

 

1) The default option will create a folder “My eMusic” on your desktop. All your eMusic downloads will be kept here.

 

2) To choose another location for your eMusic downloads click the button with [ ... ]

 

  1. You also have the option to let the Download Manager automatically sync your eMusic purchases with iTunes, Windows Media Player or Winamp.
  2. Selecting Add to eMusic Playlist will create a playlist in iTunes; all your downloads will be added to it when the Download Manager syncs.
