It may be too early to say this album is tragically overlooked since it just came out, but with a name like "Callupsie," that's almost a certainty.

Good L.A. newgaze band by way of Memphis, TN. A few missable tracks, but all in all...

Former Delgados lead singer - best album on this list.

Reminiscent of... something, probably from the early 70's. Hard to say what, though.

They're from Denmark, and yes, they do sound a little like Modest Mouse...

They keep getting better! How do they do that?

At least as good as most of the Swervedriver albums, and better than the Adam Franklin solo album too.

Ex-Slowdive frontman Neil Halstead finally makes another pop/rock record! And it's GREAT!

Nice brooding post-rock/dreampop act from the UK. Not really a piano act, but definitely some magic there.

By all rights, this should be considered a "classic album."

Former Kitchens of Distinction singer Patrick Fitzgerald produced this nice piano-centric album on a couple of Macintoshes, though you'd never know it to listen... and it's good that he's taking the low-cost route too, because he's getting zero marketing support.

Great post-punk guitar band; quite possibly their best album.

One of the 5 best new bands of the last 5 years. This is their best album, but the others are worth getting too...

Nu-gaze with a fantastic female singer. Perhaps not quite as good as their influences, but a VERY nice album regardless.

Eminently listenable from start to finish. "Way Too Long" would have been a big radio hit, at least back when radio was relevant.

Not sure why they call it "chamber pop," but this is a good deal better than most albums that get tagged as such.
