I enjoy music from a wide spectrum of genres, ranging from baroque to jazz, to world (particularly Scots-Irish traditional and Scandinavian), rock, folk, alt-country, R&B and indie singer-songwriter compositions.
"I mainly stay in the world of baroque, so much so that I have had a hard time getting into later classical works. But occasionally I do hit upon something I really like. This list is not meant to be highly critical, but simply includes CDs I have found appealing."
"Soothing and relaxing recording of flute and classical guitar. The Schubert piece and Mendelssohn's Venetian Boat Song No. 1 are standouts for me." less
"A wonderful recording pairing the oboe and harp. The two instruments complement one another very well here, making for a very enjoyable listening experience. Read Arkiv's review here." less
"A nice CD. Luis Fiestas is a violinist and composer, born in Peru, whose compositions use rhythmical and melodical elements of South American folk and popular music that he learned during his childhood. It is not particularly aimed at classical, but the music gets a classical quality partly from the composition of the ensemble, the string quartet. Fiestas also works in the Orchestra of The Finnish National Opera and has earlier played in many other classical ensembles, according to the ensemble's website. " less
