"Wow. I've never actually been a big Fugazi fan. The only thing I'd ever owned is Repeater. But on a whim, I checked this out and I'm unexpectedly giddy about it. I'm a little old to just now be coming around. My friends had Kill Taker in 92, and I ignored it. Better late than never. I've got a lot of catching up to do." less

"This is really just Uncle Tupelo with..." more

"This is really just Uncle Tupelo with a quivering Scottish dude standing in for Jeff Tweedy. It's superb." less

"Heard the first track on XM Radio and..." more

"Heard the first track on XM Radio and dug it quite a bit. It's nothing mindblowingly original. It's synth-based indie rock, and it's good. Recommended." less

"I've come this far with the man, you ..." more

"I've come this far with the man, you know? I own everything he's done over a span of two decades. Why wouldn't I give this a shot? Lately, I haven't heard anything from him that tops his first solo record. Trash is no exception. But it's worth hearing, if only to check in with an old friend." less

"Lots of people know John Croslin from..." more

"Lots of people know John Croslin from his fine production work with Spoon and a bunch of lesser known Houston bands from Houston and Austin. At this point it's safe to say he's better known for his producing than for his songwriting with the 80s college rock band, The Reivers. Lord knows I hadn't heard these songs before. But this album is filled with quality REM-influenced period pieces. No, not outstanding, but incredibly well done. Those with ears to hear will note that despite the low-volume mastering, Croslin's always-excellent drum sounds are in fine form on his band's first record." less

"Minimalist, homemade disco tracks. A ..." more

"Minimalist, homemade disco tracks. A kind of Magnetic Fields for the dance floor. His new record received some decent reviews, but everything I've read says this is the place to start. Duly noted." less

"I've not heard M. Ward ever do someth..." more

"I've not heard M. Ward ever do something that wasn't completely awesome and laid back and special. His songs are like old, friendly jeans, and damn if this lady can't sing pretty good, too." less

"Duh."
