"Needs more byte

'Nude With Boots' and 'Billy Fish' are really great tracks, with catchy choruses. But unlike most eMusic albums, the compression is very noticeable on this album, caveat emptor." less

"I'm a big Battlelore fan, but most of this album has a big 'meh' factor. I agree that their musicianship has progressed, but I tend to go for the catchy riffs and choruses, and only 'Third Immortal' did that for me on this one." less

" Good instrumental techno Tracks 9, ..." more

"
Good instrumental techno
Tracks 9, 10 and 11 are my favourites. All round the album is good instrumental electronica/techno (but not at all hardcore, it's pretty easy to listen to)." less

"Mostly unremarkable Boring industria..." more

"Mostly unremarkable
Boring industrial beats and vocals, definitely listen to samples first. "Coma" by Glytsch is interesting (probably the least "hard" song on this comp.)" less

"Competent, but doesn't grab
but "Don't Like" is pretty cool, I'd grab that. Also "So Very Real" ain't half bad." less

"Female goes lah. Man goes urragggh!
Nothing terribly different from the first two albums, but that's not really a bad thing. I think it's nearly all "clean" female vocals and "growly" male vocals, personally I think they could do better with some more clean male vocals. I like it slightly more than Where the Shadows Lie, but not as much Sword's Swong (which is awesome). 3. Ghân Of The Woods is good, as is 11. Touch of Green and Gold, and the standout is 9. Cloaked in Her Unlight which is really beautiful. Purists/fans should also note that the eMusic listing doesn't have the accents on the characters as per CD, and also missing out on three bonus tracks (although they aren't anything special). Enjoy." less

"Strong album
Pretty much like the review says, falls somewhere around the industrial rock area. Metal riffs mixed in with some groovy beats. "Margasuck" is my favourite, followed by "Just A Bastard", "Liquid Hater" and "Dirty Fighter"." less

"Not much to recommend here, which is ..." more

"Not much to recommend here, which is a pity because I keep on expecting good things after 5ifth Column. It's mostly same-ish riffs, not very industrial, no real cool hooks. "Margasuck" is the standout track, but there are already two other versions here on emu, go listen to those instead. "Pistol whip me into your arms is okay. Don't bother with Hazmat, it's just noise (static and droning guitars)." less

"Great Metal for Tolkien Fans"

"Not Bad, but don't start here
This isn't a bad collection for fans, but not the place to start if you are new to Acumen Nation. The other two releases currently here on eMu (The 5ifth Column and Live at Double Door, are excellent).Skip tracks 4-8 if you like, these remixes didn't do very much for me. Edit: Gun Lover (#13) is pretty cool." less

"I heared it too Not bad, and definit..." more

"I heared it too
Not bad, and definitely Rammstein-ish in parts (probably with the German-ness...) Favs for me are "Feind hört mit" (not sure what that means, maybe "enemy listening") and "Herz aus stahl" (Heart of steel). Schlag mich neu = Beat/hit me new, however you want to interpret that." less

"Uplifting Industrial It's still hard..." more

"Uplifting Industrial
It's still hard-hitting and frenetically paced, but without the droning and morbid overtones you may find elsewhere (use of background synthesiser helps). Less of a metal sound than Strapping Young Lad, although Namaste is my favourite track and possible the most SYL-ish." less

"It's all instrumental (if you count M..." more

"It's all instrumental (if you count Mike Patton as one of the intruments). I haven't managed to listen to all of it yet, a bit difficult to get into. Try Page 15, 21 and 29 as recommended by the AMG review. http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.d- ll?p=amg&sql=10:w9foxqwkldde I'd start with Suspended Animation first (very cool, esp. the first half), try this later." less

"Can't have enough puppies "Too many ..." more

"Can't have enough puppies
"Too many puppies" is my all-time favourite Primus album, the rest of the songs I find are a bit sameish. "Mr Knowitall" and "Pudding Time" are pretty good. Still it's great that Primus is here on eMusic, would love to see some more." less

"Pretty Good yeah, so some songs migh..." more

"Pretty Good
yeah, so some songs might be a bit silly. But it's TBMG, I go elsewhere for serious. Other people have already pointed out the good tracks, but I give an extra vote for 'Another First Kiss' it's really nice. And I like 'I've got a Fang'." less

"If my motorbike had speakers
I'd be playing this... Like all the soundtracks to your favourite Amiga games and 80s movies rolled together." less

"Should have been on the album. Sun D..." more

"Should have been on the album.
Sun Dance is a great song, an electric pow wow. Should have been on Anonymous. El Tecolote is just guitar strumming, nothing real special." less

"It's the original artists Some good ..." more

"It's the original artists
Some good tracks here, but nothing new. I didn't realise that "oh yeah" was the song from Ferris Bueller (Oh yeah, buoh buoh, chicka chicka chick-ah, etc :-)" less

"Fuck yeah. Catchy, unrelenting, v. c..." more

"Fuck yeah.
Catchy, unrelenting, v. cool. Go for 'By your command', 'Ziltoidia ataxx!!!' and 'Planet Smasher' are the rockers, but it all pieces together." less

"Get your brood on Dense and furry, i..." more

"Get your brood on
Dense and furry, it's music for machines, mostly the same beat repeats throughout each song. Check 'Tunnelvision' or 'Order' and if you like those, then my other picks are 'Somewhat Forgotten' and 'Flood (Get Out). And is it just me, or did there used to be other user reviews for this?" less
