"This is a short album of relatively short songs. The standup bass, acoustic guitars and piano work make it a light album with almost a jazz trio feel. There are great pop hooks, lead/backing vocs, and a nice variety of songs. The subtle things these guys do really adds a lot to the album." less

"The opening track, Forever, is so cat..." more

"The opening track, Forever, is so catchy. Great falsetto lead vocals and warm backup vocals. Nice instrumentation throughout the album. Who knew the beach boys moved to South Carolina and decided to release another album." less

"First full album from an excellent Sw..." more

"First full album from an excellent Swedish powerpop band. You can see the Beach Boys influence by the title of the album and the Fireman songs in the middle of this album. Fantastic album though: each song could be considered a single, due to the succinctness of the arrangements (average song of 3 minutes) and great melodies/harmonies. No fluff here!" less

"Absolutely solid pop/rock album (thou..." more

"Absolutely solid pop/rock album (though I find it a tad front heavy). Distinct lead vocals which spill from chord to chord(see tracks 1 and 5 to hear what I mean by that) make it very catchy. I'd love to hear more from these guys." less

"This is actually a Pillbugs' 'greates..." more

"This is actually a Pillbugs' 'greatest hits' album as compiled by the psychedelic label Rainbow Quartz. With that we have a very Beatles/Monkees/Byrds sound in instrumentation, song structure and stereo mixing. I really enjoy the last 5 songs." less

"Dave Gibbs (of Gigolo Aunts fame) is ..." more

"Dave Gibbs (of Gigolo Aunts fame) is on this CD, so fans of their Minor Chords/Major Themes work will eat up Track 5 (Need a Friend). The rest of the album is more folky, but the writing is strong, and the harmonies are tight. It's a nice accoustic album harkening back to the styles of CSN and Eagles. I even hear some Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne sprinkled throughout the album." less

"The overall sound and vocals on this ..." more

"The overall sound and vocals on this album (and for Derby in general) are mellow, light, and understated. Regardless, the mood they create with their songwriting and instrumentation is intense. A nice paradox." less

"Early Ben Folds Five meets Queen meet..." more

"Early Ben Folds Five meets Queen meets Maroon 5 meets Keane; though Josh Fix really has his own style. This is an inspired and varied album, with strong melodies, driving beats, layered vocals & instrumentation, and top notch hooks." less
