"If Neil Young was a Canadian Songstress then he would have proudly performed some of the simple country folk tunes with the big bass and mandolin treatments included on this Album. Track 1: "Human Thing" Vulnerablity to Strength anthem, Track 2: "For the Turnstiles" A whimiscal wonderment Neil Young tune, Track 6:"Scattered Leaves" Uses the same whimiscal care free look at love lost that would make Neil proud." less
"Strokes not Strokes. The group plays with heart and it shows. It's pumped up and bass driven. Clean but electric. Taken to an edgy point past subdued. I glossed over this collection after I collected what was a free Track 1: "The World Was A Mess But His Hair Was Perfect" Great energy intro. Later on I picked up Track 2: "Little Superstitions" Which is brilliant Alternative classic which I don't hear enough anywhere. I am convinced this band needs to be promoted by the industry because they have a sound that works." less
"It's the quality of the mix. Byrne's use of vocal and his flicking funky licks with the Eno builds that will grow on you with each listen. To all who say it's not a Byrne and Eno classic are probably longing for a "fear of Music" or "More Songs" sound but this is mature and soulful and well thought out.Track 7 "Strange Overtones" is classic. Then there is the soulful anthem track 5"Life Is Long" replete with horns and builds. Track 1:"Home" is where you have to start.but track 3:"I Feel My Stuff" brings back the errie Byrne and Eno that you "fear of " fans long for." less
"Dungen is a sound experience that you need to ride. I downloaded track 1:"Sätt att se" last month and was drawn in by the movement and layering of sound. I can't translate but it doesn't matter because they create ear candy. Track 6 Fredag is magic Track 7 Finns det nÃÂ¥gon möjlighet is a Noise pop gem. Between are you experienced and purple haze is track 4: "Samtidigt 1"...Light it up!" less
"It is not often that you can download whole albums that carry a theme from start to finish. Of Monreal have accomplished this two albums straight. From the album packaging you can see that you are going on an adventure." less
"Before Iggy Pop,before Johnny Rotten, The Cramps or the Walkmen in the middle of the last century there was Sky Saxon of The Seeds which begs one to ask "Is it out of the question to assume that punk rock originated in Los Angeles?" Listen as Sky rambles Rotten Like with Iggy abandon an energitic California surfing bird." less
"Bar blues conjures up images of the Stones, The Band or Neil Young with Crazy Horse. Subdued vocals with great lo-fi production make this memorable. This was a great final selection to the tail end of the ALT-Monster" less
"At the beginning of GBV days. They formed that Lo-Fi excellence. Compare to the polished songs of the 2004 "Half Smiles Of The Decomposed". Styles are the same but production changes." less
"Not familiar with GBV then here is a cult fave band. Robert Pollard took the 60's "Byrd" Jangle Rock, Beatles Ticket to ride peppered and made it move. The lyrics and heart are all Pollard." less
"If you can get past the 2 minutes of yodeling out of 7 minutes then wilderness makes the song an adventure clip the song at 1:59 and then you may have found something thats well worth the selection," less
"An oldie now (lol). This Band presented Radio format Ready Material. This song goes through it's paces has some nice changes but returns to the radio ready chrous. Some will like it. It's a good study of Early 2000's Rock." less
"Simple is genius.Thumping stripped down lo-fi with bells and hand claps. I feel happy around a Woodland campfire. Look at Parc Avenue's "Bye, Bye,Bye" to compliment this Song." less
"BYE to start an album. singer Warren Spicer warns "Whats going to happen to you" Seems like an encouragement to listen on. Put this in a mix before Arcade Fire's "The Woodlands National Anthem" and this Genre of music will light up and make sense." less
"Become a 70's Teenager. Does it taste like Rush or ELO or Yes or Styx or some other time capsule escapee. This tune is Clever. It is a current playlist favorite." less
"If you get nothing out of this you're frigid. Ike and Tina turn up the seductive fire. Tina Vamps and Ike licks the fire. Listen to Ike a give lush guitar rythym to Tina's pleading vocals." less
"Simple Folksy guitar with the bass drum heartbeat but the electronic synth treatments give it the mysterious depth and make it bearable. One of those songs that draws you in to a point that you didn't thinks you would go." less
"John Phillips with the Keith Richards and Mick Jagger perform to perfection. Something that can't be missed if you loved that "Exile On Main Street" era Alt-Country stuff." less
"Silver Gene comfortably reminds you of something that you needed to remember. Not the greatest of vocals or any single lead. But it's PIL like quality and drone works." less
"Talking heads fan you can rock and gyrate to this Theivery Corp mix with David Byrne vocals punctuated by the "Born Under Punches" guitar lick. Nice for metro heads." less
