"As 2009 ushers in, I've been reflecting on the past year and thinking about which albums in all of my collection I played most often during 2008(list below). With very few exceptions, I've been playing these albums in their entirety (no skipping tracks) over and over this past year. Some of what I consider my very best CDs aren't on the list simply because I guess during 2008 the mood struck me to play these particular ones instead. One big surprise for me in drawing up this list was the absence of so many baroque instrumental recordigns that I own and treasure deeply. They seem to have been replaced by baroque vocal recordings over this past year. But there's a constantly revolving door to the list, some albums staying longer and others being replaced by new discoveries or old forgotten friends in a myriad of genres."
