"I know a lot of people who are "into all kinds of music (except country and rap)". These people mostly listen to Nickelback. Without passing any judgement of any kind, I'll just say I can empathize with these people, as I was once a child as well. But recently I've taken to looking for the redeeming qualities in all genres, and it's safe to say I'm never going back. This is not to say I don't discriminate (there is a ton of garbage out there), but just to say I no longer write any genre off prematurely. This is simply a list of albums that have moved me in some way over time."

"Bear with me, this is Switchfoot's In Utero. Take everything that made A Beautiful Letdown huge and throw it away for something far more honest and desperate. This is a weird, complex, and great album." less
