Nashville's enfant terrible. Bucking convention by returning to convention. If there was a measure of justice in this life, "Fool for Love" would surely catapult Burch into country music lore. Of course, there isn't, and it won't. But it should.

An elemental, gently weeping album. Painfully melodic. Joyously executed. IMO, their best.

Criminally underrated folk outfit. Their arrangements are, variously, tender, aggressive, ominous, and hopeful. Excellent offering.

I am admittedly partial to Molina's solo and Songs: Ohia projects. That said, this album remains one of Molina's most elegant and consistent.

What a voice! Life-affirming album that, at one point, was on repeat in my car for weeks on end.

For fans of Elliott Brood. Purposeful, passionate country rock. Its achievement represents a damning indictment of mainstream music.
