Elton John is true classic, and the above albums attest to that. I was total fanboy until Blue Moves, and as the write up points out - being an adolescent in 8th grade as an EJ fan didn't bode too well with self-identification. Everyone assumed that since I liked Elton, I must have been gay (clearly, not such a big deal now). It was enough for me to make the critical mistake to not listen to Elton for years - the advantage is that I finally woke up and have ecstatically enjoyed all those early classics on CD - like I never imagined I would hear. Also missing "Friends" as a separate release - I ended up getting the Polydor "Rare Masters" 2CD set, and changing the song order to match that of the album for my iPhone - that set is the only place I've seen the entire "Friends" release. It's a great set if you can still find it.

I didn't see any mention of the work Elton did for the soundtrack of the movie, "Friends". Those of us old enough to have actually seen the movie in the theater enjoyed this charming, simple melody and the orchestral variation he did is a wonderful treat.
