eMusic's Best Albums of 2010
The 80 albums that populate eMusic's Best of 2010 run the stylistic gamut: There's skronking avant-jazz, surf songs for beachside loungers, grinding metal and delicate folk. What unites these records, though, is the personal vision behind each of them. It doesn't matter if the instrumentation employs guitars, djembes, sax or just the human voice — the albums on this list represent a dedication to a personal aesthetic, and the songs are the sound of that aesthetic realized. These are the albums that introduced us to brave new voices, and re-affirmed our faith in personal favorites. These are eMusic's Best Albums of 2010, and we're rolling them out all this week, 20 at a time.
