Discover: Essential Best-Of Albums

Where to start? That’s a question we field often, whether someone’s asking about the Warhol-endorsed art-rock of the Velvet Underground, the outlaw country of Johnny Cash or the barfly balladry of Tom Waits. Not to mention the many other artists who provided the foundation of nearly every subgenre and scene worth exploring on eMusic.

With that in mind, we’ve done the digging for you and put together a page of our favorite best-of compilations.

I am curious that out of this page of 'essential best of' albums only one is available in Australia. This seems a lot more frequent lately. Has our law changed or has the RIAA tightened up emusic's rules for you lately? Momus
