If 2012 was the Year of EDM, R.I.P. signals a return to Intelligent Dance Music. And not the bloodless kind that’s more concerned with plugins than an actual pulse. More like an elegantly designed surrogate for the album Aphex Twin’s been threatening to drop for more than a decade.
