TeenBeat acts tend to make either chaotic eclectic-rock or restrained aesthete-pop. Firmly in the second batch are HollAnd, the closest the label's come to finding a group that emulates Unrest's gift for mixing savvy sounds with a clipped vocal style. Like Unrest, the smartypants lyrics are "meta" and cheeky at the same time, functioning as signifiers of male desire. Love Fluxus is far better than it should be. This is the kind of savvy, postmodern synth-pop you play in the café because everyone has been sick of the Postal Service for three years now, but they want something that sounds a little bit like them. Pleasantly distorted keyboard lines and chiming guitars, this is music that makes you move — at least from the shoulders up.
